Rocks

I made this 3 years ago when my kitty Mr. Silly died. I always called him "kitty witty." Do you see my wellies poking in the side and bottom of the photo?

Our fish (named Slicky) died today and rather than a "burial at sea," he has gotten a special marker as well. All thanks to Linda and Rosie's challenge this week "Rock n'Roll" or Altered Rocks. Slicky was a four year old betta fish and beloved pet - yes it's true!

... we kept him (Slicky) by the front door (inside of course), because the chinese say that is good luck (we need all the luck we can get these days ;) .... so I made this more outdoorsy fish to keep by the front door (outside.)

That is such a sweet way to honor the kitty and the fish. We have little scalloped edging 'gravestones' in our pet cemetary- but they are so hard to decorate because of the rough surface. This is a much better idea!!

Such a beautiful way to honor the memory of your pets!! I think that rock for your front door is gorgeous and I love the shells and sea glass you added to it!

Love these decorated stones. We have already got a stone kit to decorate for Oliver. He is sick, so we've had 'the' conversation. We are planning a memorial rock in our garden too. May need to borrow your fish stamp when the Betta dies though ;-)

So beautiful and inspiring. how did you get the stamps onto the rocks?

You can use the gel transfer technique (see the link to the challenge at ABAA) .... or cheat like me :)

I stamp on thin tissue paper and then glue it on with white glue and then coat it with white glue after 1st gluing is dried. This technique works great on any surface and it's quick and easy.

What a good job you did with your rocks - love kitty witty (they do bring out the whimsical in us, don't they?). I want to participate in this challenge but haven't gotten cracking on it yet.

Beautiful and SO sweet Kimmie! I always enjoy the thought and heart you put into creating! The seashells on the wire around the round got my wheels turning. We hauled home lots of wonderful shells again this year! Sorry about Slicky.

These are fab Kimmie! It's a brilliant way to immortalise or keep them in your heart and mind. And Kitty Witty is just adorable.
